In Los Angeles, a high-ranking US diplomat convenes with the Jain community

The State Department's dedication to strengthening ties between India and the US through cultural diplomacy was on display recently when Assistant Secretary of South and Central Asia Donald Lu met with Jain community members in Los Angeles.

"Indian Americans are integral to the robust ties between the US and India," said Lu. "I'm privileged to engage with the Jain community in Southern California and gain insights into their impactful work across Los Angeles."

Lu acknowledged the significant contributions of the local Jain community to the variegated fabric of Los Angeles during his visit to a Jain temple in Southern California and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to meet with them. He stressed the importance of Indian Americans in maintaining the strong relationship between the two countries.
