For the first time ever in the history, a winner from USA based reality show got an opportunity to sing as a playback singer in Bollywood movies. Yes… ISHAAN TANGIRALA, winner of kids category of MERI AAWAZ SUNO AMERICA 2018 organized by JHOOM EVENTS and TARANG SONI is the first person from USA to achieve this feet.
Ishaan has recorded his first song in Mumbai in the recording studio of LALIT PANDIT, who was the chief judge of the Meri Aawaz Suno America, last week.
Jhoom Events’s CEO Tarang Soni made this announcement today sharing the pictures of the recording of the song. Song’s lyrics has been written by legendary Bollywood Writer JAVED AKHTAR and MUSIC has been composed by LALIT PANDIT.
Movie and song will be released in next couple of months.
Jhoom Events organized the biggest singing competition of North America, MERI AAWAZ SUNO AMERICA during the summer of 2018. Top 50 singers in both adults and kids category were selected across North America to participate in the Semi Finale, which was organized on 18th May 2018 at Royal Alberts Palace, Edison New Jersey. Semi Finale was judged by renowed singer Parmjit Hans, Music Mentors Prashant Soni and Partho Mukherjee. Top 10 singers from Kids and Adults category got a chance to perform on the Grand Finale, which was organized on 20th May 2018 at North Brunswick High School, New Jersey. Grand Finale was judged by Legendary Bollywood Music Director Lalit Pandit ( Jatin Lalit duo), Parmjit Hans, Music Mentor Partho Mukherjee and Daisy Jopling.
Ishaan Tangirala won the competition in the Kids category, while Sanskriti Akhoury from Canada and Surmai Agarwal from New Jersey won the first and second runners up awards.
In Adults category, Nikilesh Krishnakumar from Texas won the competition, while Deveshi Halder from Washington and Shankar Hedge from New Jersey won the first and second runners up award.
6 year old Tanisha Gupta won the People’s choice award for her beautiful singing.
Lalit Pandit made an announcement during the competition that if he likes anyone’s singing in the competition he would give him or her a break in his upcoming Bollywood movie. Lalit Pandit kept his words and gave break to Ishaan Tangirala in his upcoming music. This has happened for the first time in America that a reality competition singer got an opportunity to sing in Bollywood Movie, and this happened through MERI AAWAZ SUNO AMERICA competition.
Air India who was the title sponsor of the event, provided air tickets to Ishaan to travel to India to record the song.
Jhoom Events CEO, Tarang Soni, expressed her happiness that a promise made is a promise fulfiled. Very few people get such a break from singing competitions in India, and someone winning a US competition and getting a chance to sing in Bollywood is happening for the first time ever.
