Liquor store owner shot dead in California
DOWNEY, California
Gurpreet Singh, 44, of Cerritos, died after being shot inside his liquor store in Downey, on Tuesday, May 7, police said.
Officers responded about 10:15 p.m. to the scene at the ASL Liquor Store and Market near the intersection of Paramount Boulevard and Telegraph Road, according to the Downey Police Department.
Authorities Thursday released video and images of the robbery.
A small memorial of candles was left behind in front of the store. Regular customers of the store said Singh, a Navy reservist and father of two young boys, was at the store every day.
