Soldier killed in training event accident near LoC
Jammu, May 22: One soldier was killed and seven others were injured on Wednesday in an accident during a training event near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, a defence spokesman said.
"Today in a training event accident in a forward area in Poonch, one soldier was seriously wounded and a few others suffered minor injuries," Defence Ministry spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Devender Anand said.
The critically injured soldier succumbed to his wounds in a hospital later.
Anand however, denied that the blast was caused by an improvised explosive device.
