Eknath Gaikwad appointed as Mumbai Congress Working President
New Delhi, July 26 A day after outgoing Congress President Rahul Gandhi returned to India, he appointed Eknath Gaikwad as the Mumbai regional Congress Working President on Friday.
"Congress President has approved the proposal for appointing Eknath Gaikwad as the Working President of Mumbai Regional Congress Committee," Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal said in a statement.
The appointment of Gaikwad as the Mumbai regional Congress chief comes almost three weeks after Milind Deora resigned as Mumbai Congress chief.
