Three Indian Americans from NJ killed in accident in Virginia

PAGE COUNTY, Virginia. (WHSV) — Three Indian Americans from New Jersey were killed in accident in Page County in Virginia last Thursday. Police identified the victims as Gurmeet Singh, 44, of Carteret, New Jersey, who died on the scene. Jasleen Kaur, 38, and a six-year-old girl of Cateret, N.J. were also pronounced dead at the crash site. An 11-year-old boy was flown to UVA Medical Center with serious injuries, according to WHSV.com

According to police, Douglas W. Sours, 65, of Shenandoah was traveling south on Route 340 on a 2008 Ford F-250. He lost control and crossed the center-line and collided head on with a northbound 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Singh near the highway's intersection with Runyon Road in Rileyville.

Douglas W. Sours was transported to Winchester Medical Center with minor injuries.
Virginia State Police said charges are pending.

'The entire Carteret community is saddened by the tragic news that three of our neighbors lost their lives in a Virginia motor vehicle accident,' Carteret Mayor Daniel Reiman said in a statement. 'Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of the deceased and to the 11-year-old survivor who is battling serious injuries.'
