San Lorenzo move top of Argentina's Superliga table
Buenos Aires, Aug 24: San Lorenzo overtook Arsenal de Sarandi at the Superliga Argentina summit with a 2-0 away victory in a battle of the league's top two sides.
Juan Ramirez and Nicolas Blandi struck twice in 11 first-half minutes for the visitors, whose cause was aided just before the hour mark when Arsenal midfielder Gaston Alvarez was sent off for a second bad foul on Friday, reports Efe news.
The result propelled San Lorenzo to first place in the 24-team standings with three wins and a draw from their four matches so far.
Arsenal, who had a perfect record before Friday's match, are a point off the pace, having also played four games.
In Saturday's fixtures, Gimnasia host Defensa y Justicia, Velez Sarsfield are home to Newell's Old Boys, Patronato visit Rosario Central and Colon are away to Independiente.
