Senator Kevin Thomas Scores Top Marks on State Environmental Scorecard

(Levittown, NY) -- Senator Kevin Thomas earned a perfect score on the New York League of Conservation Voters (NYLCV) 2019 State Environmental Scorecard.

Legislators were graded on the basis of their votes on 16 key environmental bills that addressed issues of clean energy, public health, transportation, and water. In a historic legislative session with regard to environmental issues, twelve of the 16 bills passed both the Senate and the Assembly. All six Democratic Senators from Long Island earned perfect scores on this year’s NYLCV scorecard.

“Long Islanders deserve clean water, clean air, and a sustainable future,” said Senator Thomas. “I am proud to have received a perfect score on this year’s NYLCV scorecard, and I remain committed to protecting and preserving our environment.”

Senator Thomas represents New York’s 6th Senatorial District in Nassau County. He is the first Indian-American to serve in the New York State Senate. He presently Chairs the Committee on Consumer Protection.
