Illegal arms and explosives seized in Kolkata, 2 held
Kolkata, Aug 31: The Special Task Force (STF) of Kolkata Police has arrested two persons in the city for possessing 10 kg of explosive materials and improvised firearms, the police said on Saturday.
Based on prior information, the officers intercepted two persons namely Faiyaz Alam (55) and Md Mukim Khan (46) from near the Rajabazar Tram Depot late on Friday night.
"Two improvised, country made one shutter firearms and a huge quantity of explosive materials weighing about 10 kg were seized from their possession," a police officer said. The arrested persons will be produced before the court on Saturday.
