BJANA celebrates Diwali

BJANA( Bihar Jharkhand Association of America), 40+ years old organization held its annual Diwali function on Sunday, October 20th at the Royal Albert palace in Fords, New Jersey. The jam-packed event at the ball room was attended by a record number of over 500 community members and was bustling with energy throughout .The event was filled with breathtaking performances by participants of all ages ranging over 7-8 decades and every program was unique and immensely entertaining in its own way. kids performed an amazing skit highlighting the great personalities from Bihar and Jharkhand like Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Sharda Sinha and M S Dhoni to name a few. The high energy dance by the BJANA women’s group was definitely one would like to watch over and over again. The program that culminated in getting a lot of couples on stage from the audience was the popular couple dance.

The Chief guest for the event was Deputy Consul General Shri. Shatrughna Sinha who spoke about the BJANA events bringing community close to home and how it has become close to his heart. Mr. Sinha talked about hosting one business and investors summit for Bihar and Jharkha Shri Padam Shree Dr. Sudhir Parikh who spoke about his long term Association with BJANA. The event was also graced by other dignitaries like the FIA President Alok Kumar, many past Presidents and Community Leaders.

The President of BJANA, Mr. Vinay Singh addressed the guests by welcoming everyone and also taking them through all the activities of the BJANA and apprising everyone of the fundraising and charity activities of BJANA. Dr. Avinash Gupta, BJANA Vice-President felicitated some of the Community achievers and the distinguished senior members of the Community group. Alok Kumar, FIA President urged the community to come together in raising funds for the badly flood affected regions of Bihar.

There were vendors showcasing their designer wear which definitely enticed some folks. The BJANA kids had set up a ‘kids corner’ with home baked goods ,the proceeds going to the Central Food Bank of New Jersey and all of their items were sold out.

The guests had a gala time enjoying the sumptuous lunch leading into open dance floor at the end. Everyone left with smiles with lots compliments for the organizing team.
