4 lakh malnourished children in Gujarat: Govt
Gandhinagar, Feb 27 There were a little under 4 lakh malnourished children in Gujarat, said the state government responding to the Congress allegation that such children's number had increased three-fold compared with the last figures declared by the government six months back.
In the budget session of the Assembly, the government on Wednesday said there were 3,83,840 malnourished children in the state. Of these, 22,194 where in the tribal-dominated Banaskantha district.
According to the opposition, the government in a reply in the Assembly on July 9, 2019 had said there were 1,42,142 malnourished children in the state.
