Dinesh Vaz Recognized for 25 years at Schlumberger
Dinesh Vaz, a specialist in information technology process management who serves as an Operating System Product Owner at Schlumberger, the world’s leading oilfield services company, was recently recognized for 25 years of service with the company. Mr. Vaz was born and raised in Mumbai, India, where his family resides while he works in Houston, Texas (USA).
Mr. Vaz is an Advance Scoping Champion on an elite team empowered to work with Schlumberger’s global business units preparing for SAP deployment. In his present role, he evaluates the current processes and establishes design variations to conform with local operational requirements. Applying his expertise, Mr. Vaz advises, designs, creates, tests, trains, and facilitates cross-departmental implementation of transformative business system applications for the oil and gas industry, and is responsible for overseeing the worldwide launch of new digital tools and systems.

Mr. Vaz earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting from Mumbai University. He began his career with Schlumberger in 1995 as a Financial Systems Coordinator, working in the company’s offices in Dubai and Indonesia. He then served in several roles as Process Analyst, Process Lead, and Business Process Manager, driving process design and implementation of various information technology (IT) solutions within the Opportunity to Cash Domains.
In 2013 he was assigned to Schlumberger’s Houston office to contribute to one of the company’s largest IT transformation initiatives. Mr. Vaz has worked as a Business Process analyst, Design Lead and Design Manager, initiating process alignment and enabling IT Solutions. He continued to advance professionally through increasingly senior management positions in business process transformation as he became a subject matter expert in sophisticated product and application design.
Now, he is one of only six people charged with standardizing workflow and value creation as the company prepares for SAP deployment in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
Throughout his career, Mr. Vaz has been commended for his strong expertise in operations service and technical resource management, as well as his extensive success in spearheading operational strategies and objectives in cross-functional and revenue-generating divisions, while driving a culture of continuous improvement. He is valued by Schlumberger for his proven ability to leverage his experience in IT service design to configure tools that meet business needs. Mr. Vaz has also been acknowledged for his leadership abilities and takes pride in training the next generation of Schlumberger colleagues.
