Did racism end forever in America? Remembering George Floyd a year later (Dr. Mathew Joys, Las Vegas)

“Your knees are on my neck and I cannot breath, please stop.” George Floyd's tearful plea for the breath of his life was the pain of the world itself. Catching his breath, gasping for air, George also asked for water, understand that breath is life and life is holy.

On May 25, 2020, Derrick Chauvin, a Minneapolis Police officer, choked George Floyd in the neck with his knees for eight minutes and forty six seconds, for allegedly using a fake $20 bill at local Cup Foods .

The massacre of George Floyd, who was strangled to death by another man, was spontaneously raging across the United States. Rather than saying that a white man killed a black man, it is more accurate to describe a man with racism in his mind who suffocated another man in the neck until he died.

Derrick Chauvin, a white police officer, was later convicted in the murder of George Floyd, a black man in the United States, has been found guilty by a court of law. The court observed that all three charges against Chauvin, including murder, had been proved. Chauvin faces up to 75 years in prison for three counts. Yes he got the punishment, he deserved.

Killing a man with a reasoning of hate and racism in mind, is not a new story. Such racism and murder have made no difference since the beginning of man on earth.
Please remember the tragic killing of an Adivasi Madhu, who died a long time ago in Kerala, is also a victim of this racial hatred. This is how some people mistreated poor Madhu, who stole to satisfy his hunger. We need to realize that the situation is no different in our homeland than in India, where so many cruel incidents occur in our literate homeland. There have been and continue to be many custodial deaths in our country. We, conveniently forgot to show up our anger and protest in India, expressed solidarity with anger in the United States, in the name of racism on the streets of America for some reason.

Although there have been strong protests on the American streets in the past against many racist killings, different and more popular voices of protest have erupted across the United States, to global upheaval in Floyd’s name. Perhaps even strong voices from other parts of the world erupted against these racial hatreds. The opposition used and exploited this situation as a sensitive weapon very well to oust the then-President Trump. The hate crime sensed the shifts in consciousness and watched the polls turn more positive for change. But there is still no answer as to whether such racism will end.

The assassination of George Floyd left a deep scar on the minds of not only blacks but also whites. Therefore, this struggle was sharp and sensitive. It was mainly the American youth community that rallied in these struggles. Perhaps the world hails this struggle as a struggle for justice by a community with no faith in either of the two political parties in the United States.

It must be assumed that George Floyd became a symbol of the marginalized to eliminate the equation of racism that never fades in the human mind. It's not just a black man's struggle against white people; it's a white man's black spot. George Floyd was a defendant in several serious crimes. But public outraged only with sacred humanity, somehow. Some even criticized Floyd in the media for claiming that he deserved the sacred position in history.

It should be read in conjunction with the following narration too.
The Great Society program introduced by Lyndon B. Johnson in the 1960s brought African Americans here to this level. The guilt of whites, then and now, drove the African Americans too much and made them lazy. Instead of always following CNN, Fox, the Washington Post, and the New York Times, occasionally read African American writers’ books like, Up from Slavery (Booker T Washington), White Guilt (Shelby Steele), Blackout (Candice Owen) and try to find the motives behind Black Lives Matter, Antifa, Systemic Racism and Micro Aggression- just more your information. Also, keep in mind that Black Live Matters, which spearheaded these campaign, received donations amounted to $ 10.6 billion during May 2020 to December 2020 itself (according to The Economist).

If you ask me if racism is only for blacks, we need to say no. Are these reactions indicative of a radical change? Then the ethnic colors of immigrants, knowingly or unknowingly, must be eliminated along with the protests. Only then, 'Madhus and Floyds of tomorrow' may get justice. People are beginning to recognize the phenomenon in principle as "All Lives Matter"; and let this first anniversary of Floyd proclaim the serene sound of a change we all anticipate! A minute of silence remembering Floyd may be more eloquent than the words he could speak.
