Rajan Dua promoted to executive level Well Construction Division Manager—North America Offshore

HOUSTON, TX—May 26, 2021: Rajan Dua, a native of Gurgaon, India, was promoted toWell Construction Division Manager—North America Offshore at one of the world’s largest oilfield services companies. Mr. Dua is a multiple award-winning expert in petroleum engineering management, recognized worldwide for his innovation in the design and development, modification, testing, and execution of leading-edge drilling and measurement technology. In this executive level leading role he oversees well construction activities in a region that encompasses the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, and Eastern Canada, supplying critical energy resources to the United States. Supervising nearly 1,000 professionals in a business unit that annually generates revenue exceeding one billion dollars (US), Mr. Dua is responsible for all North American offshore oil well drilling, including the operations integrity, finance, planning and supply chain, sales, maintenance, and human resources functions that support his company’s drilling services in this region.

Mr. Dua brings nearly 20 years of diverse international expertise in the upstream oil and gas industry to his new position. Prior to relocating to Houston, Texas, in 2015, he managed multi- million-dollar businesses and complex teams and projects in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa, where he pioneered design and development, engineering, testing and the modification of
specialized technologies to improve processes in horizontal well drilling and reservoir mapping and characterization based on unique customer challenges in the region. He is recognized globally as a specialist in geosteering and reservoir imaging whose innovative technology solutions and services for extended reach drilling (ERD) have enhanced production while reducing project time and saving drilling operators millions of dollars.

Mr. Dua’s transformative hardware and software tools for the oil and gas industry have improved performance in areas such as drilling risk mitigation, optimizing well productivity, Logging While Drilling, rock imaging, and mapping reservoirs. Among his many accomplishments, he led teams of scientists and engineers, managing new product development and technology portfolios from market research and inception through production, field testing and deployment,
including pricing and marketing new services. In just three years his product portfolios have generated more than $800 million in revenue in U.S. and international markets. He is also a leader in educating the next generation of engineers and geoscientists, has contributed to curriculum for technology schools, and has presented seminars and training at schools, industry
conferences, and geoscientific forums worldwide.

Mr. Dua’s original scientific contributions have been published in the Journal of Petroleum Technology as well in a dozen professional oil and gas industry publications. A frequent speaker at industry conferences, in 2014 his submission titled “GeoSphere – Truly Game-changing” earned the coveted and highly competitive award for “Best Oil and Gas Innovation or Technology” at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC).

His original scientific contribution through the development of the GeoSphere tool was also recognized by HARTs E&P Special Meritorious Award for Engineering Innovation for a high resolution imaging while drilling service. He has also won numerous awards for projects which demonstrated superior success as measured by various metrics, and for envisioning future technologies that will revolutionize the science and art of oil well drilling. Mr. Dua earned a Bachelor of Technology degree in mechanical engineering in 2004 from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Kharagpur, India, which was recognized by the U.S. House of Representatives in House Resolution 227 (April 26, 2005) for the contributions its graduates have made to economic innovation in the U.S.
