Good Scout Awards Dinner held on November 16 raises $80,000 for Local Scouting Programs

The Theodore Roosevelt Council, Boy Scouts of America hosted its premiere event of the year, the Annual Good Scout Awards Dinner on Tuesday, November 16th at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Among this year's esteemed honorees was Ms. Gunjan P. Rastogi, CEO UniversaCare, an entrepreneur, community leader, philanthropist and social worker known for her dedicated service to the community, who received the Good Scout Community Award. Additionally, Richard W. Humann, P.E., President/CEO H2M architects + engineers received the Good Scout Leadership Award and David R. Doucette, Ph.D., P.E., Council Executive Board Member, was honored with Winthrop Rockefeller Award.

Doing good deeds and acts of kindness for others is at the heart of being a Good Scout, and this event recognized exceptional individuals for their unwavering service and commitment to promoting a diverse and progressive Long Island community. “We were proud and honored to celebrate Gunjan Rastogi, Richard Humann, and David Doucette,” says Christopher M. Coscia, Scout Executive/CEO. Through their civic, community, and philanthropic leadership, they exemplify the spirit of what it means to be a Good Scout.”

The exclusive cocktail and dinner event attracted more than 175 guests and raised more than $80,000 in support of local Scouting programs. Proceeds help provide education and leadership training for more than 6,500 youth in Nassau County each year including Scoutreach, a free-of-charge program which ensures that all young people can join Scouting, regardless of their circumstances, neighborhood, or background.
