Jobin Panicker- Reporter, ABC News bags two Emmys again.
Jobin Panicker is a television reporter with the ABC news station in Dallas, Texas. In the year 2022, he was awarded two Emmys in the categories of Environment/Science and Crime. Jobin Panicker has been awarded 19 Emmys in his 16-year career as a journalist.
He specializes in stories from Collin County. He joined WFAA in December 2012. Before joining WFAA, he worked at KSEE- 24 in Fresno, California. He won in writing, and he has been honored with seven television awards dating back to 2010.
His work has garnered over 15 Emmys through 2020. In 2019 he was a national finalist for Reporter of the Year by NPPA (National Press Photographer's Association). He's also a 4-time Regional Edward R. Murrow Award winner. His stories have also won AP Awards. Jobin also won 2 awards from the Society of Professional Journalists. He won that in the areas of Outstanding Features and Culture and Arts.
Panicker graduated from Gonzaga University with degrees in Business Administration and Broadcast Journalism in 2005. While there, he joined the cheerleading squad, securing courtside viewing for every Zags basketball game. From Gonzaga, he received a scholarship to Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Communication, where he earned a Master’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.
He is the second son of Orthodox Priest Fr. Yohannan Koshi Panicker (Mecherayil house, Kundara, Kerala, India) and the late Lilly Panicker. Fr. Yohannan Panicker is the Vicar of Malankara Orthodox Church, Los Angeles.
