Age is Just a Number: Fear of God is the beginning of knowledge.
By
Dr. Mathew Joys, Las Vegas
The most-read book, The Holy Bible, contains 31,102 verses, which is made up of 23,145 verses in the Old Testament and 7,957 verses in the New Testament.
Unfortunately, a so-called average Christian does not know at least 10 verses memorized and where they come from. It is not a fault at all; Christians only need to read and live accordingly. If someone can say hundred Bible verses, by heart, it should be admired and recognized.
Alas, here comes an exceptional old grandma, Chinnamma Kolath George, 80 years old, who got the first prize for memory verses from the Bible, along with marking where they come from. She wrote over 156 verses with where it is referred. However, they considered only 124 words for accuracy. Chinnamma George is the late Dr. KM George’s wife who represented in the Bible Verse Competition, and was in the final round of four contestants.
Her regular Bible reading served as an anchor to ultimate reality. It served as a purgative to a world-saturated mind. This reminds God's meticulous works of providence, Jesus' present lordship, and the Spirit's real leadership.
“When we walk with the Spirit, we begin to bear the mark of Jesus: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-controlâ€.
Her favorite verse is from Isaiah 44:3 “For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring: and they shall spring up as among the grass, as willows by the waterâ€.
(This verse is trying to express over and over that there is but One God. God can manifest Himself in a burning bush, or in smoke, or fire, but it is One Spirit. God is a Spirit, and we need to worship Him in spirit and in truth).
She has set an example of Christian Moms, who passed on the torch of faith from generation to generation. She reminds the new generation with her inspiring words “New generation should not stop reading the bible, it should be your daily challenge and give you the strength to lead a Christ-centered lifeâ€. She demonstrated the doctrine with her life itself, as a living example to us.
Mrs. Chinnamma George is the extolled and bountiful mom whose children are enjoying the fruits of her dedicated Christian life.
She is sacrosanct, and her heavenly talents need to be venerated. She became an inspiration to other church members and the family. She is incredibly “Someone just proved, that age does not matter; but only dedication that counts.â€
