On the occasion of his birthday, the Indian Consulate in New York honours B.R. Ambedkar.

In collaboration with the Shri Guru Ravidas Temple Society of New York, the Indian Consulate in New York celebrated Bharatratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar's 133rd birth anniversary on April 14, 2024, within the premises of the Consulate.

A tweet on X, formerly Twitter, by the Consulate, @IndiainNewYork, paid floral tributes to the Indian Constitution's framer and honoured him for his illuminating legacy of social justice and equality. The hall of the Consulate was full with people, including India's Consul General and other prominent community leaders.

According to the Consulate, New York City has a special relationship with Babasaheb. Nearly a century ago, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar attended Columbia University, where he received his Master's and Doctoral degrees.
