May 2 :
Nikki Haley, a Republican from India, has called for the removal of foreign students who have taken part in pro-Palestinian demonstrations at American institutions, citing the necessity of law and order.

"We need law and order," Haley yelled out, demanding the arrest of lawbreakers and policy violators at the school. There must to be a return to the home country for every foreign student taking part. The school has the right to expel any student who violates its policies. It is only fair to take legal action against lawbreakers. Just because you broke the rules doesn't mean you get away with it. I can do this. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has caused campus disruptions at famous US universities, which have caused anxieties among international student groups, especially among Indian students and their families in India. Her remarks are made in light of these events.

As a result of these interruptions, Indian students in the US have encountered considerable difficulties. Detentions, visa status issues, and scholarship opportunities are all consequences of protest participation. Concerns over the possible effect on the visa statuses of overseas students have been voiced by immigration and education experts. Students from India and other countries whose F-1 visa status is at risk may be impacted by infractions of school regulations that lead to suspension or expulsion. Achinthya Sivalingam, a student of Indian descent, was recently in the news for her detention at a pro-Palestine demonstration at Princeton University. Both Sivalingam and fellow student Hassan Sayed have been expelled from the institution while they face disciplinary action.
