May 10 :
Harman Singh has been named the new executive director of the Sikh Coalition, a non-profit advocacy group that supports the civil rights of Sikhs and is run by Sikh-Americans. In November 2021, Singh became a senior manager of education at the Sikh Coalition. In July 2023, he took on the additional responsibility of being the director of policy and education. He has testified before state legislatures, directed engagement between the administration and Congress on multiple issues, and diligently fought for the inclusion, safety, and civil rights of Sikhs as the head of the organization's educational efforts and advocacy campaigns.

Singh worked for seven years in higher education, including roles as academic advisor at Wayne State University and PhD programme coordinator at the University of Michigan, before joining the Sikh Coalition.

Also, he helped start Seva4Everybody, a grassroots organisation that helps Sikh kids find mentors and focuses on meeting the basic needs of Detroiters.

To continue defending and expanding Sikh civil rights in the United States and to advocate for a generational shift in Sikh awareness across the country, Singh expressed his honour at assuming this post at the Sikh Coalition. At this critical juncture for the panth, I am eager to work with sangats around the country to address the challenges we confront, which range from domestic intolerance and bullying to international acts of oppression.

In addition, there have been promotions within the leadership team of the Sikh Coalition. With a background in media and communications as well as programme management, Graham F. West is now serving as managing director of policy and communications.

With her experience as director of community development and her most recent contribution to the report "Where Are You Really From?," Rucha Kaur has been promoted to the position of managing director of education and community development. After serving as a Legal Fellow, Staff Attorney, senior staff attorney, and deputy director of legal affairs, Giselle Klapper is now the head of the department's legal department.
