Indian Consulate in New York Hosts Reception to Welcome Team India for T20 World Cup

New York, June 12:  
Team India was welcomed to a reception given by the Indian Consulate in New York. With the inaugural World Cup being hosted in the United States, this will be the first cricket match between the Indian national team and a host city in the United States. At the event, Rahul Dravid, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, and his players and teammates met with leaders from the Indian diaspora.

In a tweet about X, the Consulate General of India in the United States said, "@IndiainNewYork hosted a reception to welcome Team India; Cd'A a.i. Amb @ranganathan_sr & Consul General @binaysrikant76 welcomed the team; Captain @ImRo45, Head Coach Mr Rahul Dravid & team members interacted with the Indian diaspora leaders from different walks of life; sincere thanks to the entire team @BCCI esp Hon. President Mr Roger Binny, Hon. Secretary @JayShah & Hon.Vice President Mr Rajeev Shukla."

India topped Group A with four points after a thrilling victory over archrival Pakistan on Sunday. They have won both of their matches so far. After losing to the United States and India, Pakistan dropped to fourth position.
On Wednesday, June 12, the Men in Blue will face off against the US in the 25th match of the ICC Twenty20 World Cup 2024, which will take place at the Nassau International Cricket Stadium in New York. The match is part of the group stage.

Rohit Sharma (captain), Hardik Pandya, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj are all members of the Indian Twenty20 World Cup squad.
