June 25 :
The allegations that a mother in Texas tried to drown a Palestinian-American youngster in a pool "deeply disturbed" US President Joe Biden on June 24. Following the May event, which garnered national attention over the weekend, the lady has been charged with capital murder, according to court records.

At a suburban apartment pool close to Dallas, a 42-year-old woman named Elizabeth Wolf allegedly approached a mother donning a headscarf. According to US media accounts, she proceeded to make racial remarks and asked the mother if her three-year-old daughter and six-year-old boy belonged to her.

The daughter was allegedly pulled underwater when the woman seized her and the boy, who managed to free himself.

X host Joe Biden expressed his condolences to the family on June 24, saying that no child should ever have to endure such a horrific attack.

The news of a Palestinian-American child's attempted drowning at a local pool has shocked him to his core, he added.

The event was discussed at a press conference held on June 22 by the Texas branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has demanded an investigation into hate crimes.

The mother's family, according to a CAIR statement, were Palestinian Americans. The programme airs at a time when the war in Gaza is causing strong feelings in the US, especially on college campuses where demonstrations have been common.

Anti-Semitic and Islamophobic incidents have also increased as a result. Three Palestinian students from Vermont were wounded in November after a gunman opened fire in their northeastern hometown.

Additionally, authorities have connected the stabbing death of a Muslim youngster, aged six, in Chicago in early October to the conflict in Gaza.
