June 25 :
Accusing Washington of aiding the "crimes of the Kyiv regime," Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov criticised the US for the latest missile attack in Crimea Moscow. According to him, the atrocities were "committed purposefully" while the maximum population was concentrated, and the assailants spared no one, including women and children. The crimes committed by the Kiev regime are openly endorsed by the US administration. “It took the side of international terrorism,” the Russian envoy said Monday during a news briefing in response to a question regarding the US’s “silence” on the matter.

The brutality displayed by the Ukrainian military has no place in this world. While the largest number of Russians were concentrated on the shore, the crimes were committed on purpose. He continued by saying that the robbers had no qualms about slaughtering innocent women and children on a universally revered Christian holiday.

This follows reports from officials that missile fragments distributed over beachgoers after a Ukrainian strike on the city of Sevastopol in Russia-occupied Crimea, causing injuries to over 100 people and the deaths of at least five, according to CNN. According to a statement on Telegram by the Russian Ministry of Defence, the attack was carried out by Ukraine using "US-supplied ATACMS operational-tactical missiles equipped with cluster warheads."

By asserting that the United States' military sale to Ukraine "testifies the desire" of the local authorities, Anatoly Antonov further criticised the US. It is impossible for Americans to sit on their hands abroad and deny their role in the suffering of innocent people. He claimed that the local authorities' will to keep fighting regardless of human lives lost was demonstrated by the fact that American weapons were supplied to puppet forces, enabling them to launch attacks on innocent civilians.

Washington authorities saw it as a no-brainer that American personnel and intelligence are required to launch ATACMS missiles equipped with cluster explosives. According to Antonov, it's not a coincidence that enemy drones fly over the Black Sea nearly daily.

All of this points to the demise of America's "pseudo-humane" foreign policy among the deadly muck of the Ukrainian issue, according to the envoy. The post-Soviet space makes it nearly hard for Russophobes to rationalise their active engagement in the fight, he added.

In addition to wishing the wounded a quick recovery, he conveyed his condolences to the families and friends of those killed and injured in the terrorist attack. It is worth mentioning that since 2014, when Russian soldiers seized the peninsula, Crimea has been ruled by Russia. Ukrainian forces have launched periodic attacks on it since the war broke out in Ukraine.

Kyiv has long maintained that its attacks on Crimea—which have hit Russian naval bases and vessels—are a crucial component of their strategy. According to a Ukrainian source familiar with the strategy, the goal is to isolate the peninsula and make it harder for Russia to maintain its military operations on the Ukrainian mainland.
