July 2 :
A major expansion of consular services, announced by the Consulate General of India in Seattle, will begin on July 1. A second office in Bellevue has opened, complementing the original one in Seattle. Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, and Wyoming are all states that fall under the consular jurisdiction, and this expansion is an effort to make things easier and more accessible for those people.

Visas, OCI cards, and passports are all part of the enlarged service offerings. Candidates can visit the Seattle or Bellevue offices of VFS Global to arrange for these services or make use of the drop-off services. In order to make things easier for candidates, the Seattle VFS office is situated right next to the current consular grounds.

In addition to a wide variety of consular services, the Consulate General of India in Seattle can attest powers of attorney, issue marriage, death, and life certificates, attest documents, provide affidavits for children's passports to be issued in India, and register births, among many other things. Applicants have the option of visiting the consulate in person or requesting these services through mail.

Meeting the increasing demand for consular services in the region is the primary goal of the program, which aims to enhance service delivery. Residents requesting these vital services should anticipate a marked decrease in travel time and wait times as a result.

Applicants are recommended to visit the official consulate website or contact the VFS Global offices directly for more information regarding arranging appointments; the consulate released a notice on X on July.1 that contains this information. The Indian community and other applicants in the northwest United States will be better served by this new facility, which signifies a considerable improvement to the infrastructure of consular services.
