Tel Aviv, July 9:
A delegation headed by Canada's Deputy Minister of Immigration, Harpreet S. Kochhar, is currently in Israel to explore possibilities for asylum seekers in Israel to be able to seek sanctuary in Canada, as well as to strengthen cooperation and mutual learning between the two countries' immigration authorities.

In light of this, on Monday, Eyal Siso, director general of Israel's population and immigration authority, met with the delegation. The meeting's agenda included discussing potential cooperation between the two nations regarding the voluntary departure of asylum seekers in Israel, sharing information, and raising awareness of ways to enhance professional cooperation.

Among the topics discussed at the meeting was the need to establish an ongoing line of communication between the two agencies in order to lay the groundwork for future collaboration and cooperation.
