Indian Tech Professional Identified Among Victims in Separate Drowning Incidents at US Glacier National Park

July 13 :
Two people sadly drowned on July 6 in separate instances at Glacier National Park. The names of those persons were disclosed on July 10 by park authorities. Indian national Siddhant Vitthal Patil, 26, and Nepalese national Raju Jha, 28, were killed. Patil is still missing and is believed to be dead, according to park officials, after massive ground and aerial searches by rangers and an ALERT helicopter.
Before moving to California, Patil was a technology professional hailing from Maharashtra. In order to have a better view of the gorge, he veered off the Avalanche Lake Trail and climbed a big rock. Based on what witnesses saw, he apparently lost his footing on the slippery surface and plunged into Avalanche Creek. The strong stream carried him away into the canyon when he briefly surfaced underwater, as witnessed by friends and witnesses.
Public records show that Patil notified his mother via text message a few hours prior to the terrible event that he would be going to San Jose, California, to resume his career with Cadence Design Systems in three days. The press announcement states that Rangers are still keeping an eye on the region and have found some of Patil's belongings further downstream. A drone was sent out to help find his body, but it didn't find anything. Officials have pointed out that the depth, turbulence, and submerged obstacles—likely rocks and trees—are making the search difficult.
