Biden Announces COVID-19 Illness, Takes Political Jabs at Musk and Trump
Las Vegas,July 18 :
US President Joe Biden used his positive COVID-19 test as a political statement against Elon Musk and Trump. In the immediate aftermath of Biden's diagnosis, he vented his frustrations on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. "I'm sick," Biden said in his inaugural message, mentioning his present state of health. Just as he was about to say something about Elon Musk and his wealthy friends attempting to buy this election, he abruptly shifted gears and became more political. Please provide a hand if you feel the same way.
Included in the message were photos of Trump and Musk, as well as a link to a page where people could donate to Biden's campaign for 2024. When it comes to the 2024 presidential election, Musk has made it clear that he will be voting for Trump. After a gunman opened fire on the former president during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, Musk posted on X to endorse Trump.
Musk has been vocal in his support for Trump's presidential campaign and has criticized Biden on social media for his age and immigration views. A related development is that Musk plans to donate over USD 45 million monthly to a pro-Trump political entity, according to The Wall Street Journal. In a subsequent response to the X story in the Journal, Musk posted a meme with the words "FAKE GNUS," calling into question the veracity of the reported financial data. A day after speaking out against Trump's policies and the rising tide of gun violence at the NAACP National Convention in Las Vegas, 81-year-old Biden tested positive on Wednesday.
"He (Biden) will be returning to Delaware where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time," the White House announced in a joint statement on Wednesday (local time). According to the White House, the president has received multiple doses of the COVID-19 vaccination, the most recent of which was in September 2023. Biden reassured reporters that he was feeling OK before boarding Air Force One without a mask, and he left Las Vegas without doing so.
