JD Vance Questions Biden's Presidency If Cognitive Function Is Impaired

Washington, DC, July 20:
JD Vance, the running mate of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, attacked US President Joe Biden on Friday, questioning how Biden can continue to serve in office without the "cognitive function" to seek reelection.

The senator from Ohio turned to X and said, "If Joe Biden can't think clearly enough to run for re-election, then he most certainly can't think clearly enough to continue serving as Commander-In-Chief.". If Democrats are so committed to having him withdraw from the presidential election, how can they honestly believe that he should continue serving as president? His remarks followed calls from other Democrats for Biden to resign as their party's nominee. After his clumsy showing in last month's nationally broadcast 90-minute debate with Trump, Biden has been under heavy criticism. This November, though, Biden has promised to be "running this race to end" in the contest for president.

During the discussion, Biden appeared noticeably raspy and showed signs of having a limited range of voice, which made it difficult for him to distinguish himself from Trump. He frequently stumbled and lacked verbal clarity when he tried to cite statistics and legislative accomplishments.

In a joint statement urging the president to withdraw his reelection effort, four House Democrats published a statement on Friday, and Senator Martin Heinrich became the third Democratic senator to call for Biden to step aside, amplifying the calls from Democratic members.
It was reported last week that over 20 Democrats in the US Congress had asked Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 presidential campaign. Politico, a US-based media outlet, said that rank-and-file lawmakers are the ones who encouraged Biden to drop out of the race, despite the fact that the Democratic Party leadership openly supports the president's re-election.

The leading members of the Intelligence and Armed Services Committees, Jim Hines and Adam Smith, respectively, are among the senators urging Biden to withdraw from the race, according to Politico. Smith is a prominent national security Democrat.

The majority of these representatives were from so-called "safe districts" where the president had a comfortable 2020 reelection. Lloyd Doggett has been a member of Congress for nearly 30 years and represents a "safe" district in Texas. He was the first politician to ask Biden to drop his re-election campaign.

In spite of the demands from Democrats, Biden expressed his eagerness to resume campaigning next week in a Friday statement. A 'dark vision for the future,' he reportedly said in his criticism of former US President Trump's RNC speech.

"Donald Trump's bleak vision for the future does not reflect who we are as Americans," Biden stated in a statement. It was claimed by The Hill that if the party and the country work together, they will be able to beat him in the election.

He added, "I look forward to getting back on the campaign trail next week to continue exposing the threat of Donald Trump's Project 2025 agenda while making the case for my own record and the vision that I have for America: one where we save our democracy, protect our rights and freedoms, and create opportunity for everyone." Testing positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday while campaigning in Las Vegas, Biden has been secluded at his Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, home since then.
