US Delegation, Led by Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma, to Visit Nepal and India Starting August 16

In an effort to help both Nepal and India build stronger, more affluent futures, US delegations led by Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R. Verma will visit Nepal on August 16 and India from August 17-22. Meeting with senior government officials, climate leaders, aerospace academics, and industry representatives will be on the agenda for Deputy Secretary Verma's visit to New Delhi, India.
A number of topics, such as economic development, sustainable energy, climate action, and STEM education, will be discussed in order to further the US-Indian collaboration. The official statement from the US Department of State noted that he will be accompanied in India by David Turk, the Deputy Secretary of the US Department of Energy, and John Podesta, the Senior Advisor to the President for International Climate Policy.
The team will meet with high-ranking government officials, development experts, and corporate executives in Nepal to deliberate on common goals related to energy, women's empowerment, economic growth, and strengthening people-to-people ties.
