Delhi Police File Case Against Woman for Using Fake Documents to Obtain U.S. Visa
August 16 :
Authorities in Delhi have begun investigating a case against a lady who allegedly used "fraudulent documents" to apply for a visa to the United States.
On Wednesday, the US Embassy in India filed a complaint with the Delhi Police, alleging that a woman from Punjab named Jashandeep Kaur registered for a non-immigrant visa. From October 19, 2020, until July 31, 2022, she worked as an administrative assistant for Kapoor Associates in Haryana, according to her online visa application.
She did, however, confess to US embassy officials that she had never worked for Kapoor Associates and had obtained the false paperwork from her father's acquaintance Jaswant Singh.
According to the complaint, Kaur said that KC Overseas Education Karnal's Singh and Vanshika helped her apply for a visa, and that if the visa were granted, Kaur would pay Singh Rs 1.5 lakh.
Jashandeep Kaur was also accused of having "conspired with Jaswant Singh; Vanshika of KC Overseas Education Karnal to obtain forged/fraudulent education documents to cheat the US Embassy in India and the US Government to obtain a visa based on such forged/fraudulent claims and misrepresentations."
The accused, Jashandeep Kaur, was charged by the Delhi Police at the Chanakyapuri Police Station with violations of sections 318(4), 336(3), 340 (2), and 61 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS), in response to the complaint. Additional information is being sought as the matter continues to be investigated.
