Texas Car Accident Claims Lives of Three Indian-Origin Family Members
August 19 :
Tragically, three members of an Indian-origin family tragically passed away in a car crash in Texas; their fourteen-year-old kid is the sole survivor. Reports indicate that the incident happened on Wednesday near Lampasas County. Leander, Williamson County, central Texas, was the home of the victims—45-year-old Arvind Mani, 40-year-old Pradeepa Arvind, and 17-year-old Andril Arvind. After dropping out of high school, the couple was dropping off their daughter at the University of Dallas, where she would start her computer science degree.
Unfortunately, Adiryan, their son who was fourteen years old, was not a passenger in the car when the accident occurred. Because of this, he became the sole heir to the family. According to the reports, the accident happened when the driver of a 2004 Cadillac lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic after experiencing a rear tire rupture while going southward. At that point, the Mani family's Kia Telluride was slammed into the windshield. As a result, the Cadillac's driver and four others were killed in a catastrophic fire.
Surviving was out of the question. "The amount of damage and the amount of people lost makes it one of the worst crashes I have seen in 26 years," a police officer told local media. Reports from eyewitnesses lead authorities to believe that the Cadillac was doing about 160 kmph when the crash occurred. Police said the impact was similar to crashing into a concrete wall at 270 kmph, with the family's automobile doing around 112 kmph.
