Kamala Harris Reaffirms Defense of American Ideals as Campaign Regains Support from California Tech Donor
August 26,:
Former big funders, especially from the tech industry, who were dormant during Joe Biden's campaign are now actively supporting Kamala Harris's presidential candidacy.
Politico reports that following Joe Biden's withdrawal from the campaign, Harris was able to gather approximately $59 million USD. Donors in the Golden State contributed $12.5 million. Google and its parent firm Alphabet donated USD 262,000, Apple USD 170,000, and Meta USD 81,000. Notably, tech titans like Meta and Google have been substantial supporters.
With almost 10,000 Californians contributing to her 2019 campaign, including approximately 460 tech employees who gave around $400,000, Harris is set to draw more donations from the tech industry, according to Politico's analysis.
After leaning toward Republican contender Donald Trump, the IT sector is now strongly supporting Harris. This change encompasses a large number of people who had previously supported her 2020 presidential campaign but did not donate while she was Biden's vice president.
In the meanwhile, Kamala Harris has not stopped urging Democrats to cast their ballots for her in November's presidential run-off.
Now is our chance to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors and fight for the freedoms and principles that this nation stands for. Now is the time to stand up for what we believe in. The next great chapter in the greatest incredible story ever told can be written by us, Harris said on Sunday in an X timeline post.
"As President, I will never waver in defence of America's security and ideals, because in the enduring struggle between democracy and tyranny, I know where I stand--and I know where the United States belongs," said the president.
The campaign is getting hotter by the day. At the National Guard Association of the United States meeting in Detroit on Monday, President Trump is expected to give a speech to the attendees. Democratic candidates Tim Walz and Kamala Harris will be touring Georgia later this week on a bus.according to the New York Times,Two Harris-Walz campaign fundraisers on Long Island's East End are slated to have Doug Emhoff, the second gentleman, speak at Monday,
