Alabama Doctor of Indian Origin Fatally Shot

Dr. Ramesh Babu Peramsetty, a prominent Indian-American doctor in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, was murdered after being shot multiple times.
Rescue workers declared the doctor dead at the site; he was originally from India's Tirupati area in the state of Andhra Pradesh.Dr. Peramsetty is a well-respected member of the medical community; he established and oversaw the operations of numerous community health centers as medical director of the Crimson Care Network.

We have been informed of Dr. Ramesh Peramsetty's passing, as many of you are aware," the network wrote on Facebook to confirm his tragic death. Please respect the privacy of the Peramsetty family while they grieve. They have been showered with love and support, and we will carry on his legacy in his honor.

The Crimson Care Network later issued a statement urging the public to remember the Peramsetty family in prayer and thinking during this difficult time. As we go through this difficult period, we ask that you please remember the Peramsetty and Crimson Care Network families in your prayers and thoughts. In the next days, our team will be ready to make additional announcements. His memory shall live on in our observance. The message also mentioned that our clinics will be open during the transition.

As pointed out by WebMD, Peramsetty acquired nearly forty years of medical expertise to his practice. He graduated from Sri Venkateswara Medical College in 1986. His clinics were pioneers in providing testing, immunizations, and monoclonal antibody therapies during the COVID-19 pandemic, which garnered him significant praise. His wife and four American-based children—two sons and two daughters—are his surviving relatives.
