Envoy Garcetti: India and US Share a Unified Vision on Global Affairs
August 28 :
In a Wednesday speech praising the US-India connection, US Ambassador Eric Garcetti noted that the two countries' peoples have similar worldviews, which makes Americans and Indians feel the same way.
"What are the things we are trying to accomplish in the US-India relationship?" Garcetti asked during his speech at the Annual IC3 Conference and Expo 2024 in Delhi. I believe our hearts are really in sync, and we are aware that Indians and Americans feel the same way.Looking around, we see that a free and open Indo-Pacific is preferable to one that is oppressive, illiberal, and fails to recognize human rights. Our perspectives are congruent on this matter.
In an unprecedented display of power, Garcetti added, the United States and India are collaborating.
"I recently visited a company here in India that took a breakthrough of American scientists in dengue fever to have a vaccine that was effective in all 4 strains, never yet invented in human history, and gave that breakthrough to a number of Indian companies," the Ambassador of the US remarked.
The United States and India are collaborating on a dengue fever vaccine, and one of them is currently in the third phase of clinical testing. If this continues, perhaps within the next year or two, India and the rest of the globe will have a protection against this deadly disease."I believe the power of our collaboration is unprecedented," he continued.
The United States and India have cordial and friendly relations and work together in many fields, including defence, space, and many more.
At this year's second annual US-India Advanced Domains Defense Dialogue (AD3), held at the Pentagon in Washington, DC in May, US Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for Space Policy Vipin Narang and India’s Joint Secretary for International Cooperation, Vishwesh Negi met.
The statement issued by US Department of Defense Spokesperson Cmdr Jessica Anderson states that throughout the meeting, Narang and Negi explored ways to enhance space cooperation and pinpointed possible areas of partnership with US industry.
According to the Indian Air Force, a joint working group between the United States and India came together for two days in New Delhi in April as part of the Defence Tech and Trade Initiative (DTTI) to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries. On April 29th and 30th, the gathering took place.
The meeting's main topics of discussion were how to improve defense cooperation and co-production by capitalizing on the assets of both partner states.
Air Vice Marshal George Thomas, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Plans), and Brig Gen Joel W. Safranek, among other high-ranking officials, spent the grueling sessions plotting out ways to strengthen the defense relationship between the two countries.
