India and US Kick Off Joint Military Exercise 'Yudh Abhyas 2024' in Rajasthan
September 9:
Beginning Monday at the Foreign Training Node in Rajasthan's Mahajan Field Firing Ranges, the United States and India will conduct their 20th annual joint military exercise Yudh Abhyas till September 22.
Approximately 600 soldiers from the RAJPUT Regiment and other branches will take part in the 14-day exercise, while the United States is represented by the 1-24 Battalion of the 11th Airborne Division in Alaska.
The military forces of the two countries will work together in this exercise to prepare for counterterrorism operations in a non-traditional setting, in accordance with UN Charter Chapter VII.
Joint reaction to a terrorist attack, joint planning, and integrated field training exercises simulating real-world counter-terrorism missions are all part of the tactical maneuvers that will be practiced throughout the exercise.
The 20th India-United States Joint Military Exercise YUDH ABHYAS-2024 began today at the Foreign Training Node in Mahajan Field Firing Ranges, Rajasthan, as reported by the Ministry of Defence. The planned dates for the exercise are 9–22 September 2024. Since 2004, the United States of America and India have taken turns hosting Exercise YUDH ABHYAS.
In terms of both manpower and technology, this iteration of the combined exercise is far more extensive and sophisticated than its predecessors. A battalion from the RAJPUT Regiment and other armed forces and services are representing the 600-strong Indian Army contingent. According to the Ministry, the United States contingent, which is similarly sized, will be represented by the 1-24 Battalion of the 11th Airborne Division of the US Army, which is headquartered in Alaska.
Both sides will have the opportunity to share their best practices in tactics, techniques, and procedures for conducting joint operations during Exercise YUDH ABHYAS. It will make it easier for the two armies to become more friendly and cooperative with one another. The bilateral relations between the two friendly nations will be further strengthened by the combined exercise, which will also improve defense cooperation.
