Washington DC, September 11:
During the second presidential debate, Vice President Kamala Harris seemed to have the upper hand over former President Trump on a number of divisive topics, including abortion, illegal immigration, and the continuing crises in Gaza and Ukraine.

Earlier last week, in Philadelphia, ABC News presided over the second presidential debate.

Al Jazeera reports that Trump's unfocused responses and rambling speech during the debate revealed his struggle to maintain a consistent narrative. It seems like landing strikes on Harris was his main concern.

However, Harris seemed to get under Trump's skin and slammed him with stinging jabs, using the word "disgrace" multiple times.

The nominations for president were accepted early this year by Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, respectively, and they are now the official candidates of their respective parties.

Concerns about Biden's age were voiced at the first presidential debate in June, when he faced off against Trump. As a result, Biden withdrew his endorsement of Harris and dropped out of the contest.

After the debate with Trump, Biden praised his deputy, Kamala Harris, calling her the "best choice" to steer the nation ahead.

Biden asserted that he has taken great pride in collaborating with her for the past 3.5 years, and he claimed that the outcome of the debate "wasn't even close."

All Americans got to see the leader I've had the honor of assisting for the past 3.5 years tonight. Absolutely crushed it. Our nation's future is in good hands with Vice President Harris, as she demonstrated. After this, we're not turning back," Biden said on X. Additionally, Kamala Harris shared a photo from the debate with the caption, "We are not going back."

Trump took aim at the Biden-Harris administration during the debate, citing illegal immigration and the escalating crises in Gaza and Ukraine as reasons. The vice president and president-elect, he added, were the "worst in history."

Regarding US backing for Israel and Ukraine, Harris reaffirmed her administration's stance. With an attack on Trump's stance on abortion, she promised to run for president on behalf of "all Americans."

Trump attempted to cast Harris as a socialist who would seek open-border policies, outlaw fracking, and seize firearms from citizens. Additionally, he made an effort to associate her with Joe Biden, the president, by portraying the two as essentially identical politicians.

In response, Harris branded Trump a "disgrace" and questioned his suitability for office.

To counter Harris's portrayal as a radical leftist, Trump used the term "Marxist" in his answer. And he said that Harris intends to "confiscate everybody's gun"

Harris responded by saying that both she and her choice for vice president, Tim Walz, are gun owners.

The two presidential contenders couldn't have been more diametrically opposed on the United States' stance toward the two global crises.

Harris emphasized the importance of supporting Ukrainian soldiers as they fight back against the Russian invasion, in contrast to Trump's claims and vows to stop the conflict as president-elect (before taking office).

When asked about the US's priority, Trump stated, "US's best interest to get this war finished and just get it done." He then went on to say that it would be best for Ukraine to win.

Russian President Vladimir Putin would already be in Kyiv if Trump were in office, the Vice President said, rebutting the outgoing president's hesitancy to commit full-fledged support for Ukraine.

Regarding Israel, Harris reaffirmed her commitment to continue arming Israel while stating her support for a Gaza ceasefire arrangement that would return Israeli hostages. Additionally, she expressed her agreement with the two-state solution.

In a statement, former US President Barack Obama lauded Harris's performance in the debate, saying that the American people recognized her as the candidate with the courage and vision to unite the country rather than divide it.

Rather than allowing divisions to fester, we witnessed tonight who possesses the courage and vision to lead our nation forward. He said on X that Kamala Harris would be a president for all Americans.

The "only candidate in this race who is ready to be President" is Kamala Harris, according to former First Lady Michelle Obama, who also lavished praise on VP Harris, saying that there should be no uncertainty or more room for discussion.

"After tonight's debate there should be no doubt - no room for discussion -@KamalaHarrisis the only candidate in this race who is ready to be President," she said on X's website.

Vote for Tim Walz and Kamala Harris! I know I've said this before, but I'll say it again: get your hands dirty, knock on doors, and tell everyone you know to do the same. In such a tight contest, every vote counts. Having anyone watch from the sidelines is something we just cannot afford. "There's significantly more on the line," she continued. This year, November 5, the US presidential elections are set to take place.
