Washington, DC, September 18 :
In a Tuesday (local time) statement, former US president and Republican presidential contender Donald Trump gushed over Prime Minister Narendra Modi, describing him as a "fantastic man." While in the United States next week, he will meet with Prime Minister Modi, he added.

Modi, who is great, is actually coming to see me next week. Incredible, dude. In the days leading up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's arrival in the United States, Trump gushed about the great leaders from India.

"These folks are as perceptive as they come. They're completely inverted...So they're playing at their highest level, and they're trying to bring it out against us. However, India is far from easy. The Brazilians are tough. He further by saying, "We were taking care of China with the tariffs," referring to the country as the toughest of all.

While campaigning, Trump promised that his administration will participate in a trade war by imposing taxes on foreign goods equal to those other countries.

"Are you saying that we charge them and they charge us?" Okay, I'm game. The Trump Reciprocal Trade Act—or, if you prefer, I'll just leave the name off—will be its official name, according to Trump.

Trump emphasized his views of reciprocal trade by saying, "If anybody charges us 10 cents, if they charge us USD 2, if they charge us 100 per cent, 250 per cent we charge them the same thing, and you know what's going to happen." Eventually, all of this will go away, and free commerce will be the norm again. assuming it remains visible. A lot of money will come in.

Between September 21 and 23, Prime Minister Modi will be in the United States. At US President Joe Biden's invitation, he will travel to Delaware for the annual Quad Summit.

Present Modi will also deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly's "Summit of the Future" while in the US. On September 22, he would reportedly address a gathering of Indian community members in New York, as reported by the External Affairs Ministry.

President Trump's visit to India in February 2020 was the last time he and Prime Minister Modi met. In Ahmedabad, Trump was greeted with a 'Namaste Trump' ceremony concurrent with the opening of the largest cricket stadium in the world. While visited the United States in 2019, Prime Minister Modi stopped at a "Howdy, Modi!" rally in Texas.
