Trump, the Republican nominee for president, made his first public appearance since an alleged second assassination attempt on September 15 at a rally where he claimed he was the target of "radical left" forces and vowed to campaign with fresh vigor. "These brushes with death have not broken my will," he declared to an irate audience in Uniondale, New York, which is located thirty miles away from Manhattan. "My resolve has only been strengthened by them."

Even though New York is not seen as a competitive state in the next election on November 5th, Trump nonetheless managed to speak to almost 10,000 fans at a sports facility on Long Island. As long as Trump was prevented from campaigning in states that could determine the election's outcome, local Democrats expressed no objections to his presence in the region.

Trump did not hesitate to bring up the subject of the suspect's alleged plot to shoot him during his round of golf in West Palm Beach, Florida, on September 15th, when he made reference to the arrest. Trump was wounded while giving a speech in Pennsylvania in July by another gunman.

Now my life has been spared, Trump declared. "Twice and not once." Following the purported assassination attempt on his life, Trump characterized his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris, as a "violent, radical-left monster." He subsequently used identical language to characterize Harris.

There is no proof that the "radical left" was behind the assassinations attempts that Trump said. After his arrest on Sunday, 58-year-old Ryan Routh was charged with two offenses involving firearms. In a self-published book from 2023, Routh implies that he supported Trump in 2016, but later said that it was a "terrible mistake." He has also teased President Joe Biden online.

Harris condemned acts of political violence following the incident on September 15. Trump expressed gratitude to the Teamsters union, which had earlier on September 18 severed ties with Harris's campaign by abandoning its long-standing practice of endorsing candidates in presidential races. Since the year 2000, every Democratic presidential candidate has received the endorsement of the Teamsters. Trump said that the decision was made because he had tremendous support from the union members. "It caught me off guard," he remarked.

Former New York mayor and Trump supporter Rudy Giuliani addressed the audience before Trump spoke, implying that the president had been the subject of an assassination plot due to his agenda. "There will be no more attacks!" he shouted. Trump came on Long Island to rally support for local congressional candidates, including the one who spoke before him, Rep. Anthony D'Esposito.

Republicans' chances of retaining House power hinge on their performance in the New York suburbs. In his remarks, Trump emphasized the importance of electing more Republicans across the board. A Haitian immigrant neighborhood in Springfield, Ohio, has been the target of bogus accusations of pet eating and bomb threats, an issue that Trump brought up once again. Trump has stated that he will visit the city within two weeks, adding fuel to the fire of such rumors
