Washington, DC, September 20:
The White House has confirmed that US President Joe Biden will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy on September 26. U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris is also on Zelenskyy's itinerary.
At this summit, world leaders will review the current situation in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, talk about Kyiv's plans for the future, and review the United States' assistance to Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
President Biden will meet with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine at the White House on Thursday, September 26, according to a statement from White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Separately, President Zelenskyy and Vice President Harris will meet at the White House.
Ukrainian strategic planning and U.S. assistance to Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression will be among the topics discussed by the leaders as they assess the current situation in the battle between Russia and Ukraine. She went on to say that the president and vice president will make it clear that they will stand behind Ukraine until the end of the war.
As part of his discussion with Biden, Zelenskyy will lay out the strategy for victory in Ukraine. U.S. support for Ukraine's right to freedom and the specifics of this plan are likely to be discussed, according to the Ukrainian president. On the fringes of UNGA, he will meet with international leaders and deliver an address to the global body.
"This coming week, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine will pay a state visit to the USA," announced the Ukrainian presidential office. Meeting with Ukrainian community members and leaders from American energy and defense companies, the president of Ukraine will also speak at the United Nations General Assembly. On the fringes of the United Nations General Assembly, the Head of State will engage in bilateral discussions with heads of state and international organizations.
In a meeting with US President Joe Biden, Volodymyr Zelenskyy will unveil the Victory Plan. It went on to say that the president of Ukraine is planning to talk about the plan's specifics and how the US will back Ukraine in its freedom struggle.
The president of Ukraine will meet with lawmakers from both parties in the United States Congress as well as former president Donald Trump during his visit.
Importantly, the United States has been aiding Ukraine since the conflict with Russia erupted in 2022. Russia is also facing penalties from the US.
White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced earlier this month that Biden will meet with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and that Washington is getting ready to provide Kyiv with a "substantial" amount of additional aid.
"I do think we need a comprehensive strategy for success in this war, and that is what President Zelenskyy says he is bringing," stated Sullivan.
According to Al Jazeera, Sullivan made his remarks at the Yalta European Strategy conference in Kyiv via videolink.
"So we are very much looking forward to sitting down and talking that through, and President Biden is eager for that conversation," added the president.
Sullivan characterized the recent developments in the area as a source of "unique concern." Furthermore, according to Al Jazeera, the White House advisor said that Biden is trying to put Ukraine in the "best possible position to prevail" during his last months in office. Importantly, Biden will not be seeking reelection, and his term will end in January. "President Zelenskyy has said that ultimately this war has to end through negotiations, and we need them to be strong in those negotiations," according to him.
