Wayanad is a picturesque district located in the southern state of Kerala, India, known for its lush greenery, mist-covered hills, and vibrant wildlife. Nestled in the Western Ghats, it is one of the world's most ecologically rich mountain ranges.

In a tragic turn of events, a village in Wayanad has been completely wiped out by landslides, leaving many lives lost and survivors struggling to rebuild their lives. In this dire situation, India’s fastest-growing news channel, Twenty Four, has extended a helping hand to the affected community through its initiative, Twenty Four Connect.

The program has provided vital support to many in Wayanad, offering hope and a path forward. At a public gathering for twenty four audience in Kalpetta, Editor-in-Chief R. Sreekantan Nair reassured the people that Twenty Four is committed to helping them rebuild their lives.

It was also noted that Wayanad has received not only aid but also the love and care of Malayalees in America, who have sent money and other help from the United States. One significant gesture was the gifting of a new mini pick-up van to Vasu, a resident of Wayanad, whose vehicle was lost in the disaster.

This generous contribution came from the head of Twenty Four’s operations in America, symbolizing global solidarity in Wayanad’s recovery. During the handover ceremony, Madhu Kottarakkara stressed the importance of helping those in distress, ensuring that aid is delivered efficiently to restore livelihoods.

Madhu urged people from America and around the world to come together and support Wayanad in its revival. Twenty Four and Twenty Four Connect have ambitious plans to lead Wayanad’s recovery efforts. With a dedicated team now stationed in the region, the channel is working relentlessly to coordinate relief activities and support the community in rebuilding their lives.
