September 23 :
In a recent report, an NBC News survey conducted on September 22nd indicated that since U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris became the Democratic nominee for president, respondents have grown to view her more favorably; as a result, she now leads Republican challenger Donald Trump by five percentage points.

Of 1,000 registered voters polled, 48% now have a positive impression of Harris as the nominee, up from 32% in July. This is the biggest increase in positive ratings for a politician polled by NBC since the favorability of President George W. Bush increased following the 9/11 attacks.

According to the news network, the percentage of people who saw Trump favorably increased from 38% in July to 40% now. The survey was carried out from September 13th to the 17th, and it has a margin of error of 3%. With a margin of error of plus or minus 2 percentage points, a separate CBS News survey likewise had Harris leading Trump by 4 percentage points, 52 to 48 percent, among potential voters.

The results indicate a tight race going into the November 5 election, which is consistent with other recent national surveys (such as those by Reuters/Ipsos). The winner is decided by the state-by-state results of the Electoral College, with a few of battleground states likely to be decisive, while national surveys do provide important signals on the attitudes of the people.

Despite facing federal and state criminal charges related to his attempts to alter the 2020 election results, Trump, who is 78 years old, continues to falsely blame Joe Biden's victory and is making his third straight run for the presidency. Former U.S. senator and prosecutor Harris is now working under Biden. She is 59 years old. In the 248-year history of the nation, she would be the first woman to hold the office of president. NBC's "Meet the Press" was graced by the presence of Amy Walter, publisher and editor-in-chief of the nonpartisan Cook Political Report. Walter skillfully transformed the campaign from being a referendum on Joe Biden to one that is a verdict on Donald Trump.

Harris gained 2 percentage points in CBS's poll of 3,129 registered voters questioned between September 18 and 20, following a 50/50 split in August. This was supported by her strong showing in the debate on September 10 and positive economic news.
