New York,September 27 :
A meeting between President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine and former US president Donald Trump is scheduled to take place on Friday at Trump Tower in New York at approximately 9:45 am (local time), according to The Hill. Trump announced the meeting on Thursday

Previous meetings between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine and US Vice President Joe Biden and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in Washington at the White House focused on bolstering Ukraine's stance in the continuing conflict with Russia. This meeting follows directly on the heels of those discussions.

The president will meet with Zelenskyy tomorrow morning at 9:45 in Trump Tower, as you are aware; this was announced by Trump during a press conference in New York.

So many casualties and property damage; it's tragic what's occurring in Ukraine. It's really terrible. According to NBC News, Trump has chosen not to meet with Zelensky. While in North Carolina on Wednesday, the former president criticized the president of Ukraine, stating, "He's making little nasty aspersions towards your favourite president, me," as reported by The Hill.

Zelensky paid a visit to the White House on the same day that Trump made his pronouncement. Having formerly criticized US aid to Ukraine and lauded Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump's position on Ukraine has been rather contentious.

On the other hand, Biden has promised to give Ukraine the aid it needs to win the conflict, reiterating US backing for the Ukrainian government. U.S. officials just announced $8 billion in help and a new arsenal for Ukraine.

At the meeting, Zelenskyy thanked the US for their support, noting that the US and Ukraine had been allies since the Russian invasion began.

"I presented the Victory Plan to President Joe Biden during our meeting," Zelenskyy wrote in a post he shared on X. We consulted on the following phases as a group, coordinated our stances, opinions, and methods, and talked about specifics to make the plan stronger.

President Biden, however, tweeted his support for Ukraine using his X handle. The battle between Russia and Ukraine, he added, will end with Ukraine triumphant.

He shared an X post in which he said, "Today, President Zelenskyy and I sat down again to discuss strengthening Ukraine's position on the battlefield and helping Ukraine rebuild stronger than before." The Ukrainian side will emerge victorious from this conflict. And rest assured, the United States will be there for them through thick and thin.

Zelenskyy wrote, "I discussed the specifics of our victory strategy with Vice President Kamala Harris in a post I made earlier. Our ability to be understood and our cooperation with the US should be properly coordinated.

This war must cease, and a fair peace must be achieved. Everyone, including Ukrainian families and children, needs our protection from Putin's evil. In addition, the tweet expressed gratitude to the United States for its support of Ukraine during this crisis.

In a press statement, the Pentagon said that the Department of Defense (DoD) has released a new security assistance package to help Ukraine battle Russian aggression. The goal of the package is to provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons to triumph.

The Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) will receive an extra $2.4 billion as part of this security assistance package. This money will help Ukraine acquire more air defense, UAS, and air-to-ground munitions, fortify its defense industrial base, and meet its maintenance and sustainment needs.
