Washington, DC, September 28:
Sabrina Singh, the deputy press secretary of the Pentagon, stated that the United States and India have a good connection. Additionally, she emphasized that the foundational values of the Quad alliance include the promotion of an open and free Indo-Pacific.

During Thursday's news briefing at the Pentagon, Singh made the comments.

Singh stressed that the Quad is a coalition of states bound by their dedication to an open and free Indo-Pacific area in response to a question regarding US-India relations and the path forward following the 2+2 in New Delhi and the Quad Summit in the US.

The belief in an open and free Indo-Pacific region brought together a collection of states that are similar to each other, and they formed the Quad. The Quad serves that role, among many others. Regarding the future of the partnership, it is worth noting the wealth of information that the president and the White House shared last weekend following their high-level discussions in Wilmington.

Furthermore, she emphasized that the alliance between the US and India is unquestionably robust. One of the Quad's founding principles is to guarantee a free and open Indo-Pacific, and the president's engagement with Prime Minister Modi and other members of the Quad builds upon this.

It is worth mentioning that on September 17, officials from the US and India met in New Delhi for the seventh US-India 2+2 Intersessional Dialogue. The purpose of the dialogue was to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation.

According to a US Department of State press release, the US mission was co-chaired by President Donald Lu and Jedidiah P. Royal, the principal deputy assistant secretaries of defense for Indo-Pacific security affairs and South and Central Asian affairs, respectively.

The meetings were chaired by Joint Secretary for International Cooperation Vishwesh Negi from the Ministry of Defence and Joint Secretary for the Americas Nagaraj Naidu from the Ministry of External Affairs on the Indian side.

Officials from the US Department of State and the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and Defense met for the 2+2 intersessional, which was co-hosted by the US and India. The MEA had stated in an X post that the meeting's main topics included regional and global concerns as well as bilateral defense and strategy priorities.

Key topics, such as defense cooperation, space and civil aviation collaboration, and industrial and logistical coordination, were pushed by both parties during the conference. As part of their shared efforts to address global issues, the two nations prioritized clean energy cooperation.

While in the United States from September 21–23, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stopped in Joe Biden’s hometown of Delaware for the Quad Leaders Summit. At the UN's "Summit of the Future," he spoke, and he met with many heads of state in bilateral sessions.
