Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal Plans Trip to the U.S.

Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has been asked by Gina Raimondo, United States Secretary of Commerce, to visit the USA from September 30, 2024, to October 3, 2024.

October 2nd will see Piyush Goyal co-chair the India-USA CEO Forum, while October 3rd will see Secretary Raimondo and the 6th India-USA Commercial Dialogue. At the events in Washington, D.C., the two sides will discuss measures to boost long-term economic growth, make the country more welcoming to investments, and forge closer relationships between the corporate communities of India and the United States.

There are a lot of great investment prospects in India, and Minister Goyal will be speaking with prominent Indian and American CEOs and business leaders about it. Panelists on this occasion include representatives of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum. An India-USA Gems and Jewellery Trade Roundtable and a Young Business Leaders Roundtable will both be chaired by Goyal.

In addition, Goyal and Raimondo will talk about how to broaden and diversify vital mineral supply networks between the United States and India. The parties are in the process of negotiating a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the goals of increasing cooperation, diversifying vital mineral supply chains, and capitalizing on their respective capabilities. The meeting between Goyal and Katherine Tai, the USTR Ambassador, will focus on measures to increase trade between India and the United States, as well as the continuation of cooperation under the Trade Policy Forum.
