Trump Circulates False Endorsement Claim from JPMorgan CEO

On his Truth Social platform, Trump shared a photo of Dimon alongside the caption: "New: Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, has endorsed Trump for President." Around 1800 GMT, Trump published what seemed to be a repost of another social media post.
The long-serving boss of JPMorgan, according to a JPMorgan spokesman, has remained neutral throughout the contest. According to Joe Evangelisti, a spokesperson for JPMorgan, "That report was false" (AFP, email, 16 July). "Jamie has not endorsed a candidate."
In August, Trump circulated edited photos that he claimed showed pop artist Taylor Swift endorsing his run for president. Swift, on the other hand, lent her full support to Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump's opponent, last month. The altered photos that Trump posted "conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation," she stated on her Instagram post from September 11, 2018. "The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth," he added. The false Dimon endorsement remained on to Trump's Truth Social page at 1700 GMT.
