Tel Aviv, October 7:
According to the Israel Defense Forces, a situational assessment was carried out by US Central Command Commander General Michael Kurilla with the participation of Chief of the General Staff LTG Herzi Halevi and other commanders on Monday. During his visit, the US commander mostly discussed the present state of security.

"Yesterday, the Commander CENTCOM General Michael "Erik" Kurilla, conducted a situational assessment with the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Herzi Halevi, and additional commanders," the Israeli Defense Forces announced in a post on X. The present security concerns, particularly those involving Iran and the northern front, were the primary topics of General Kurilla's visit. As part of our shared goal of enhancing regional stability and military cooperation, the Israeli Defense Forces will keep expanding ties with the United States military.
As part of its stepped-up campaign in Lebanon, Israel intensified airstrikes on Hezbollah strongholds in Beirut, targeting vital weapons depots and terror infrastructure overnight. In retaliation, rockets launched from southern Lebanon hit the Israeli port city of Haifa earlier on Monday, according to Al Jazeera.

The Israeli military claims that Haifa, a port city, was struck by five rockets fired from Lebanon.

A house, a restaurant, and a key thoroughfare were all damaged, leaving at least five people wounded, according to Israeli media. Tiberias, a city in northern Israel, reportedly also heard sirens, according to Al Jazeera.

Additionally, the army announced that the Upper Galilee area was alerted following the detection of fifteen rockets. Interception occurred with "some" of them.

According to Israeli media, the missile attack on Haifa has injured at least ten persons.

The southern suburbs of Beirut were rocked by a series of devastating airstrikes launched by Israel, sending plumes of smoke and gigantic fireballs hurtling into the air. According to Al Jassera, a path of devastation and anarchy were left behind by the relentless shelling that targeted Hezbollah strongholds.

A structure that was once used by the Hezbollah-run broadcaster Al-Manar and another building that is on a route that leads to Lebanon's international airport were both struck by the strikes. So far, the Lebanese Ministry of Health has been tight-lipped over the number of casualties reported as a result of the Israeli strikes.
