US-India Strategic Partnership Forum Kicks Off as EAM Jaishankar Meets with Board of Directors

Meetings between the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum's Board of Directors and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar kicked off the event on Sunday in Delhi, according to a release from the USISP Forum. Key measures to expand US-India strategic and economic ties were underlined by Jaishankar in talks with John T. Chambers, according to the statement.

"We are thrilled to begin the USISPF India Leadership Summit 2024 in New Delhi with a fruitful meeting between our Board of Directors and S Jaishankar, the Hon. Minister of External Affairs, Government of India," the USISPF wrote in an X post. Jaishankar, in a fireside chat with USISPF Chairman John T. Chambers, emphasized the inherent harmony between India and the United States and pointed out important opportunities to fortify the economic and strategic links between the two countries. Along with outlining substantial potential for American investors, he stressed the policy continuity under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In order to better prepare young people for success in the workforce of the future, Jaishankar urged the Board of Directors to embrace the "PM's Internship Scheme" to increase their employability. This summit comes after Prime Minister Modi's fruitful trip to the US for the UN General Assembly and the Sixth Quad Leaders' Summit.

The mission of the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) is to forge a strong alliance between the two countries. In our capacity as the sole autonomous non-profit organization whose mission is to fortify the alliance between the United States and India.

An important opportunity to deepen the growing strategic alliance between the United States and India will be presented at the USISPF India Leadership Summit 2024. Improving supply chains, increasing investment in semiconductors, developing artificial intelligence and next-gen technologies, strengthening defense links, supporting renewable energy, and growing bilateral trade will be key targets. An open and free Indo-Pacific is a shared goal of the two democracies, the statement added.

For high-level discussions on bolstering trade, defense, technology, education, energy, start-ups, healthcare, and people-to-people links, the summit will bring together senior cabinet ministers, global corporate leaders, significant lawmakers, and the USISPF’s Board Delegation.

Participants at the summit, which will last for one day, will hear from a number of notable figures, such as Piyush Goyal, Minister of Commerce & Industry; Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education; Jyotiraditya Scindia, Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region; Nara Lokesh, Minister of Human Resources Development; IT Electronics & Communication; RTG, Government of Andhra Pradesh; Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary, Department of Defense Production, Ministry of Defense; S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology; and Punya Salila Srivastava, Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.
