Ontario, Canada, October 15:
As relations between India and Canada deteriorated, members of India's diaspora in Canada voiced their worries. They demanded that the issue be resolved amicably. Earlier on Monday, there was a diplomatic impasse between the two countries, with India recalling its envoy to Canada and dismissing six Canadian diplomats.

For his exclusive interview with ANI, prominent Canadian politician, businessman, and social activist Baljit Singh Bawa referred to the development as "diseartening news" and blamed "politically driven statements" made out of "someone's personal ego or favouring a community" for the change in events.

"Very worried about my future, of every Indian Canadian's future on this land," he stated, expressing his deep anxiety over the escalating tensions between the two nations.

He pointed out that "Canada and India must work together to ensure that these relations are strengthened"

He made the comment that excellent relations between Canada and India are particularly important in light of India's economic might and the fact that it has the third-largest GDP in the world.

In an interview with ANI, Indo-Canadian broadcaster Darshan Maharaja expressed his "sorrowful news" about the deteriorating connection between India and Canada. He brought up the fact that there are a lot of Indo-Canadians living in Canada and how the impasse would affect both the people and their trade ties.

The Maharaja proposed that a "third friendly country" mediate the dispute between India and Canada.

More over three percent of Canada's population is Indian, with almost 1.8 million people living in diaspora and another one million people who aren't permanent residents.

As of 2023, the total value of products traded between Canada and India was 7.65 billion USD.

Since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claimed that Nijjar's murder in Canada was orchestrated by Indian government agents, the two countries have been entangled in a historic diplomatic crisis.

The Indian government has dismissed the Canadian claims as "absurd" and "politically motivated."

As part of their investigation into the 2023 murder in British Columbia of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, six Indian diplomats and consular personnel were expelled by Canada on Monday.Six Canadian diplomats have been expelled from India, the Indian government said.
