Oct 19 :
Team Harris-Walz is launching its sixth major wave of television and digital ads speaking directly with Asian American voters across the battlegrounds – ramping up the campaign’s record-breaking efforts to mobilize these key voters who will play a pivotal role in this election.

The paid media blitz’s main 30-second spot – “Economy” – features the voices of Maya, Magnolia, Kanie, Mary Ann, and Joel – five workers and small business owners in Nevada who share how Vice President Kamala Harris’ plan to build an Opportunity Economy will help more Asian Americans build wealth, raise a family, achieve homeownership, and start a new business.

Vice President Harris has pledged to make the vitality of the small business community central to a Harris-Walz administration. Her proposals would: Provide a dramatic tenfold expansion of tax relief for starting a small business, expanding the startup expense deduction for small businesses from $5,000 to $50,000. Cut unnecessary red tape, making it easier for small businesses to file taxes, reducing barriers to getting occupational licenses across states, and reducing burdensome small business regulations. Set a goal of 25 million new business applications in her first term—exceeding the record 19 million new business applications already seen under the Biden-Harris Administration.

Help existing small businesses grow by providing low-and no-interest loans to small businesses, boost access to venture capital, and support innovation hubs and business incubators. Make our tax code fairer, while ensuring the wealthy and big corporations pay their fair share, she will tax capital gains at a rate that rewards investment in America’s innovators, founders, and small businesses.

In stark contrast, Trump’s Project 2025 agenda would cut off federal programs that give support to small businesses all while giving billionaires and the biggest corporations massive tax cuts. Starting this week, “Economy” will blanket the airwaves in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin as part of the Harris-Walz campaign’s $370 million investment in TV, radio, and digital reservations until Election Day – rolling across nearly 70 different broadcast outlets serving Asian American communities. Voters will also see “Economy” on Meta, Snap, Youtube, connected TV, iHeartRadio, Pandora, and other digital channels.

Another version of the ad called “Important” will run specifically in Nevada-based markets and highlights Harris’ pledge to eliminate taxes on tips for service and hospitality workers, which would help put more money in workers’ pockets. Nevada is at the heart of Democrats’ efforts to engage with Asian American voters, who make up almost 12 percent of the state’s electorate and includes a growing number of Filipino Americans. Vice President Harris launched the campaign’s national Asian American voter engagement program in Nevada in July, and Team Harris-Walz rolled out taxi tops, bus shelters, and billboards in Las Vegas late last month spotlighting Vice President Harris’ support for “Pinoy Pride” ahead of Filipino American History Month.

“Our communities deserve a proven leader who will provide economic security, opportunity, and prosperity for our families,” said Harris-Walz Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Spokesperson Andrew Peng. “While Trump fueled discrimination against Asian-owned businesses and nearly doubled the Asian American unemployment rate, Vice President Kamala Harris has delivered record support to Asian American entrepreneurs while spurring historic small business and job growth. As President, her top priority will be to lower costs and build an Opportunity Economy where everyone has a chance to compete and succeed.”
