Trump Claims Google CEO Sundar Pichai Called to Praise His McDonald's Visit in Pennsylvania
October 29:
A recent visit to a McDonald's shop in Pennsylvania was praised by Google CEO Sundar Pichai, according to former U.S. President and Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Trump mentioned that he received a call from Sundar, who told him, "Sir, what you did with McDonald's was one of the single biggest events we've ever had at Google," during an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.
The president insisted that his stop at the fast food joint was anything but a casual outing, saying that the visit garnered enormous media attention. A huge throng, he added, and an uptick in internet searches were the results of the scene. "The interest was huge," Trump said, describing the throng as outrageous.
While Vice President Kamala Harris has spoken about her time spent working at McDonald's as a young woman, Trump made the amusing contrast that he had spent "15 minutes more" behind the counter. He attacked Harris with this remark, accusing her of inflating her claim about her tenure at the fast food joint.
Claims made by Trump regarding Pichai's call are part of his continuous criticism of big tech corporations. The former president has long accused companies like Google of using search engine manipulation to derail his campaign rallies. While Trump has acknowledged receiving calls from Pichai and other industry CEOs, such as Apple CEO Tim Cook and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the specifics of these meetings are yet unknown
